COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Bridges Institute is the Spanish interface for your business. We provide training, seminars, translation and consulting. Our premier training programs are OSHA Safety, Spanish-for-your-Job, and First Aid~CPR~AED; all available in Spanish and English. Other languages are also available! The Spanish-for-your-Job trainings are through a national program called Command Spanish®. These Spanish-language trainings are job-specific and teach practical Spanish for immediate use. Some titles are:

PROFILES OF PRINCIPALS
Steven St. Laurent, Founder of
Bridges Institute, has a
unique background of Engineering,
Safety and Spanish.

Steve is an International Speaker & Trainer who has worked professionally since 2000 in New England, New Mexico, Sicily and Mexico. During Steve's two years in Mexico, he gained a command of technical fluency and everyday speech in Spanish that few professionals possess. He holds three national certifications: From OSHA, Command Spanish® and the American Heart Association. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Minor in Spanish from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Additionally, Steve holds a Masters Certificate in Business and Spanish from the leading Latin American University for Engineering and Business: Monterrey Institute of Technology.
He is a Fulbright Scholar and has worked for the United States Department of Energy at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM. Steve’s has been employed by the Leominster Public School System as a Math and English teacher; by St. Leo Elementary School in the Worcester Diocese as a Spanish and Math teacher; and is currently an Adjunct Faculty teaching online Math courses for the New England College of Finance in Boston, MA.
Furthermore, Steve designed and conducted a one-day training in Spanish for the third largest cement company in the world, CEMEX, while working for them in Northern Mexico. He has interpreted and translated for organizations in Mexico, Costa Rica, and the U.S. Steve is the translator and interpreter for Bridges Institute, and he is our instructor for our OSHA, First Aid, and Spanish-language programs.
Cathy St. Laurent is our Marketing
Artist and Children’s Spanish teacher.

Cathy’s expertise is as an artist and children’s specialist. Since Bridges Institute’s beginning in 2005, Cathy has worked with Steve in the design and teaching of curriculum for after-school Spanish & summer programs, as well as Spanish classes for children ages 5 - 15. Likewise she has also helped teach some of our English classes with Steve. Cathy’s specialty is as an artist. She has designed and built presentation material for trade shows and our website. Her experience extends across the U.S. and internationally as well, designing a mural for Werner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon and spending three months over two summers working with and teaching art in Spanish to children through the T.E.A.R.S. Ministry in the inner city of La Vega, Dominican Republic.
Additionally Cathy has worked with emotionally-disturbed children and adults in Portland, OR; as well as a Teacher’s Aid for the Portland Public School System. Her other experience includes designing and painting murals, caricatures and other artwork for New Song Community Church in Portland, OR and also for Christian Life Center in Leominster, MA.
Finally, Cathy and her husband Steve are Youth Directors at their local church in Leominster, MA. They both speak hope into the lives of the many teenagers they meet with on a weekly basis. They desire to motivate others to become passionate about their lives and to embrace the hope of heaven that is available at no cost to everyone who believes in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. In addition to the hope of heaven, they teach how the Bible says that God has created us all and –through Jesus– has provided a way for us to be free from having to please others and carry hurts and baggage from our past. Only God can free us and lift the heaviness and frustration that so many people carry on their shoulders each day, without anyone else knowing.
Our mission at Bridges Institute is to provide and teach the excellent programs presented on this website with the end goal of bridging the language and cultural gaps that exist in our society. We believe our enthusiasm for the fullness of life coupled with our unique programs and services will ignite you to learn. That is who we are: Educators and Motivators. That is what we do. But we are also people, and that is why we shared our faith with you here on this page. This is what is at our core: Jesus is a God of invitation, not obligation; and he invites you to cast your cares on him, because he cares about you. God loves you. And likewise we want each client, student and business to know that the people at Bridges Institute care about you, and desire to positively impact your life and your family’s life in every way we can!
